Hello
My mum had surgery for bowel cancer in December and started on oral capecitabine at the start of February. She is halfway through her fourth cycle. Until recently her main side effect was tiredness but towards the end of her third cycle and especially this cycle she has noticed a reflux-type feeling and a sensation that she isn’t swallowing her food completely (even though she is). She also has a “tinny” taste in her mouth all the time. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, is there anything that can be done about it?
Thanks
Happ
Hi
Welcome to the forum and your mum sounds as though she is actually handling chemo very well .
I would definitely speak to her team about the reflux aspect as I am sure they would want to help her with it .
My mum had what she described as a metallic taste in her mouth . She hated it but did not find a solution .

I have included a thread that might be worth a read to see if others have encountered it as it’s always coming up and we have a search function at the top right hand side .
Our helpline staff could also see if they can make any suggestions on 0808 808 0000.
Hopefully others will pop on and share too .
Send your mum our love .
