Lonsurf, the final step?

Finished second line October, no treatment since then, only disease is in lymph nodes.

Now waiting to see if any trials at The Christie, however now severely constipated and lack of appetite, looking like Lonsurf is final line of treatment.

Looking for support and feedback from any Lonsurfers, how is works and side effects, and if Avastin can be taken alongside it, and timelines, if any, to the time when Hospice care may be needed?

Not sure if you have read this research article but they have trialled it in America by the looks of things but I noticed with patients who have not received prior chemo . Funding of these things on the NHS is always tricky but thought you might like to see the article .

They are using lonsurf with a targeted drug only suitable for people who are not MSI or had previous targeted treatment but they seem to be looking at using it with other agents . Again you may have read all of the above already and apologies if you have .

You also might like to try the Bowel cancer U.K. forum is you want to spread your net wider as they have a stage 4 section and you might be able to get a better feel for how people are getting on with it .

The research I linked in at the top has timelines on how long patients used it for .
