Fearful of what may come

Saw the consultant a couple of days ago, he said very little but I have a 2 week referral for a CT scan. Have been having a range of symptoms for the last few weeks; bloating, diarrhoea, cramping and dull ache on left side. This is why l am still awake at this time of night. Did my calprotein test this morning. I had a different type of cancer 15 years ago.

Hi and welcome to the board although I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling. It’s difficult to say what’s causing your problems at the moment - there are lots of things that have similar symptoms to bowel cancer like crohns, colitis,diverticulitis but the important thing is that you’re being investigated to find out the cause. If, and it is an if at this stage, it turns out to be bowel cancer then there is a lot of treatment available and we’ll be happy to help you through it.

Please stay away from google - try and keep busy and distract yourself until you’ve had your tests and know what is causing your issues then go from there.
