Hi. I have S4 bowel & liver
mom going in for an ablation on Thursday to cut 1 tumour out.
Anybody got any advice? Going to Freeman hospital.
There is no cutting out with ablation - it's a non invasive procedure with long needles - that are aimed at the cancer.
I had an ablation on 2 Lung Nodules in Oct '20. Ablation is called RFA (Radio Frequency Ablation,) which in my case - mean't a non invasive procedure; ie; there is no surgery, just long needles that 'ablate' any tumours. You can opt for sedation or GA. I chose the latter - which meant one night in hospital - then, if all goes well, you can carry on with your normal life the next day. There is no 'cutting' involved.
Best wishes
Marianne

Yes, it's a wonderful & very easy treatment isn't it! But I think it depends on each individuals' circumstances.
