Hi All,
I've been on this forum for about 3 months because my husband had a bowel resection and a colostomy made. Since then he has been in hospital except for 2 weeks at home. And in those 2 weeks we had a dreadful time with him being sick and the stoma working intermittently. This resulted in him being re-admitted with a blockage, which they sorted out. They then decided the stoma was not working as it should!!! Last Wednesday they re-operated and found lots of adhesions which were causing the problem. I just wondered if anyone else has had this?
Once I googled Adhesions I realised just why they can be so problematic. My mum had issues with suspected adhesions for a few years following her larger liver resection but they settled . Strange how some people develop them but they can do a lot of pulling if what I read is correct .
Hope he is making progress as he has had such an ordeal .

You learn something new every day!!!! The doctors have told him today that apparently the small bowel is normally lubricated, but it can dry out and his had. (Don't know if this is age related) Anyway they have lubricated it during the operation, so that should help.
