Hi

I am currently waiting for an appointment for a colonoscopy. I was quite shocked to learn that if I test positive for covid before then I will have to wait 90 days for the procedure.

Is this standard practice ?

thanks

  • That sounds like  a long time. I thought that the isolation time had been shortened. Did you get a test by the hospital for the colonoscopy or have you done a LFT?

  • Unfortunately I heard something similar. Hopefully that will change .

Our helpline staff have have all the up to date covid information and might be worthwhile giving them a call . 0808 808 0000,

I was really surprised by it but they will know who it applies to and always best to check it out .

    Take care ,

  • I had covid and had to cancel some hospital appts. But I had covid at the end of Aug and I had an endoscopy and a biopsy (local anaesthetic)  in Nov, both within 90 days.

  • Thanks everyone. I haven't tested positive but with community levels so high currently it is possible I could in the next fortnight. I questioned them at the hospital and that was their policy so I will just have to keep my fingers crossed .
