Watch and wait

Hi, following a diagnosis of rectal cancer and treatment of radiotherapy therapy and chemo, my scans have shown a complete response to treatment. They are recommending the oncore watch and wait with 3 monthly scans and sigmondoscopy. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi Happy 14, I am now 2 years and 10 months (at the point of my latest MRI and sigmoidoscopy last month) clear since the end of radiotherapy, having had a complete response and going on a watch and wait program, so it has worked for me brilliantly so far.

I have a CT scan coming up in January so I'm hoping that will be clear too.

I should add that I did a lot of things (with the knowledge and agreement of my NHS oncologist) to help improve my chances of staying clear.
