Had surgery in September, for stage 2 colon cancer (T4) with no spread. I started adjuvant chemo 3 weeks ago, but I was getting pain in my chest. Now the capecitabine (capox) regime has been pulled and I am being sent to the Beatson for iv chemo over 2 days in a 2 week cycle. The iv terrifies me! Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, greenwell
Hi Greenwell
My mum had IV chemo at the Beatson. They were absolutely fantastic with her . They monitor you very well and slowed my mum’s infusion down to make the side effects more tolerable . She managed it over two years . They worked really closely with her all the way .
The team at the Beatson are fantastic and I have every faith in them . So I really hope that helps ease some of your concerns . If there is any aspect of it that you want to chat about please say . There are loads of Drs on hand and all very patient oriented.
Take care ,
Court
