Following completion of a home test kit I was called in for a colonoscopy 9 days ago. During the colonoscopy I was diagnosed with a single malignant tumour. Within 4 days I had CT and MRI scans. All very quick.
Today the ColoRectal unit had their weekly Interdisciplinary meeting to discuss their cases including mine. They said I will hear from them next when they have been able to allocate me to a consultant. I don't have a date for this.
I don't want to be selfish after their very fast response but am in limbo not knowing when someone will contact me again. In your experience did the consultant meeting come quite quickly after your scans?
I thought so too but what can I do? If that's what they want I will just have to do it. I do live in Scotland so maybe there are different rules in other parts of the UK?
Yes that could be the reasoning behind it. I’ve been very careful before the PCR. But not isolated for ten days. Just the normal social distance guidance. Now I’d be tempted to use lateral flow test to see people.
I would follow like you too I’ve been really careful as both of us are vulnerable. Haven’t hugged my Irish grandchildren for two years. My sons works in critical care.
Christmas & Covid & Cancer. It’s to many things to worry about.

What hospital are you going through .You can always phone them .Do you have a contact nurse if so use that .It will help . If you don't ask it will be on your mind If you're in pain it's A&E .Lete know how you get on .

Stop watching news. Just flip the switch. You concentrate on you and things that make you feel more relaxed. Know that easy to say when you’ve an operation looming.
I was like a cat on a hot tin roof
Anyone remember that saying or am I really old?
Like Alaine says the contact nurses are so approachable.
Ann
Yes that’s right Sophia but I don’t remember the film. Just the saying.
