Hi
I was diagnosed with Small Bowel cancer back in December 2020. It had also spread to my Liver. I was told I had got it as I have Crohns disease. Operation was done in January but with no success as it was to spread out.
I was started on Chemotherapy and done 18 rounds of it but I had not been well since the 16 round. I was took of the Chemotherapy for four weeks. Then when I went back seen the Consultant was told that no Chemotherapy could be done. I was then told that was it and the time I had left was in the hands of the Lord. My Wife and I are heartbroken. When we came out of office we could hear people talking about Christmas and laughing. We were just in tears.
Today now We are planning my funeral and trying my best to organise that I pass away at home.
I am 56 years old.
Cancer is so cruel!

Hi Sarahserena.
I have a palliative care nurse coming to see me on Tuesday. App he is coming to see me bout pain relief.
No chemo because it was making me so sick. I live in N Ireland. No mention of clinical trials. Chemo had been reduced by 60% but still making me sick. Due to the tumours being in my small bowel my food I eat is not being absorbed there fore I am not gaining any weight. I have been on Creon tablets for 6 weeks which help to break down food so more easily absorbed but not working. I am fading away.
Hi William,
so saddened to read your post what a terrible year for you and your wife.. .....I think we can all feel a certain there but for the grace of god..... 56 is too young and its a devastating diagnosis. I am sure you both were planning your future and how your life was going to pan out and then WHAM ..
Its not fair, cancer is never fair

Some info on the clinical trials in Ireland. Not seeing anything obvious but thought I would attach the link anyway . Also I totally understand if you are not tolerating treatment it may not be appropriate at this juncture.
A lot of trials are dependent on location .
You are going through a lot . Are you getting support as you organise your care ?
Take care ,

I asked my District Nurse 3 weeks ago for a seat for shower and am still waiting on it. I have a palliative care nurse coming to see me on Tuesday to talk about pain relief. I have lost that much weight that I am fear I am getting a bed sore on my behind. I am hoping the district nurse can give me something to help me.
Awful time
