Hello, just noticed small amount of blood in urine. Had a permanent stoma fitted in April. Had 6 rounds of chemo, finished late August. Now in a panic, is the cancer back???

  • Do you have any other symptoms ? Helen? which could be attributed to a irons infection ?

  • Honestly L16, it’s just this spotting. I’m suffering from aches and pains but doing so for sometime. Now I’m think of worst case and uterine cancer

  • To have been through what you have been it’s normal to be worried but remember you will have had a scan when you finished chemo in  Aug?  we are on a journey that’s makes us think any little niggle is the worst possible outcome, get an appoint monday and get it looked into. i’m mean time drink plenty fluids. let me know how you get on xx

  • Thank you so much L16. Yes any pain or ache or anything else is a worry. And thank you so much for taking the time on a saturday. I haven’t been taking enough fluids and must start again.
Oncologist and surgeon said in August they were very happy for me. But thr niggles are a big worry all the time.

  • i’m only on the start of this journey ( although i am a nurse) o had left hemicolectomy 3 weeks ago today! to have adjuvant chemotherapy and waiting on that appoint! the journey we are on been on makes you worry! drink plenty monitor your symptoms and book an appoint to give yourself some reassurance

keep me posted on how your doing

  • Thank you Linda. Well done on the first part.  Well that’s over for you. The chemo I found wasn’t too bad. Have the adjuvant chemo  is an insurance policy.
drinking tea, but zero water. I’m due scans and bloods test, fast forward them also. Thank you again

  • I get blood in my urine that is not even an infection but inflammation in my bladder .

Something I saw recently might interest you . Macmillan has partner with Boots the chemist and every single store has a pharmacist who can be consulted about cancer related issues . I think you can get a urine sample /antibiotics from them . Might be worthwhile having a chat .
