Hi
I am going to suggest you get it checked out . I have included a leaflet and there is references to reporting bleeding . Not because I think there is anything wrong as it is a healing wound internally but I think they would be able to separate for you what is within the range of normal and what’s abnormal and may need intervention. That is really difficult to know unless you work in that field . Post op we passed a few things past my mum’s team and I found them to know exactly what was normal and reassuring to hear .
If your at all worried you can phone the NHS or our helpline nurses might actually be of assistance. 0808 808 0000.
Great to hear you are safely through and I am sure you will feel better with professional reassurance.
Take care ,

Hi Bobs74, my first two bowel movements resulted in fresh red blood which I put down to trauma from the surgery. It eased quickly and normalised after the third and subsequent bowel movements. Completely normal now which the colorectal team said was fine. Hopefully your bleeding will stop, if it doesn’t you should get checked out xx
Thank you Emsy, I really appreciate the reassurance, fingers crossed! Hope you're doing well xx
