  • Hi

so I’ve been told drs will be meeting tomorrow to discuss my case . It’s been nearly four weeks of hell . Thankfully I found this group and honestly don’t think  I would have managed without the support. So thank you .
Another set back today . Cardiologist phoned me while having scans for the cancer they picked up cal acidification of the artery.
I know it’s a good thing to be found . But seriously can’t find space in my head for something else to deal with feel so deflated.
Dr on phone just spoke so quickly . I couldn’t keep up . I’m going to Barts for cat scan . In the meantime I have to take statins and blood thinners

just so overwhelmed. It’s like my body is falling apart

sorry for the moan

I

  • Hi Darcyolly, they find different things wrong on scans. I also am on statins. When the doc or nurse or anyone talk fast ask them to talk slower, I do all the time(I wear hearing aids) and you want to grasp what is said. Once you know what your treatment is the routine will start bloods, treatment  3 monthly scans and see oncologist for scan results. Try to stay occupied and good luck with your san. Let us no how you get on . Xx

    Hi

thank you . I definitely will . My brain goes to jelly at the moment

  • Yep I get jelly brain at times. At the moment I'm laying here counting sheep, just can't get to sleep.  Take care xx

  • That’s a lot to process . My mum was quite shocked at some of the things her CT scans kept popping up . Whilst it’s better to know , knowing is tough too .
Priority issues first . I think my mum is on statins too ! She is on beta blockers to slow her blood flow as her arteries in her abdomen are not in great shape from all the treatment . She is not too fond of them but it’s doing the job .
You will get more equipped at asking for clarification. I think the shock stops you absorbing information at times .

Hopefully today a decision will be made and that’s the first step towards getting a start at a good plan to pull this all back in .

Its a lot to process by anyone’s standards so be kind to yourself .

    Take care ,

    Thank you court

I just need to see my gp and talk things through. Because the blood thinners will interfere with my other meds

but I can’t get an appointment

    everything is so hard now

not sure where I can go to get help

    You too Moi2

hope you managed to sleep xx

  • That’s awful . I honestly don’t understand why you can not be seen .

Both my parents had an in person GP visit two days ago  . He just put on a mask , visor and they all sanitised their hands .

The GP service is such a valuable resource and I don’t know priority patients are not being seen .

My mum can’t use the blood thinners due to platelet issues . Hopefully once you get a dedicated oncologist this will all improve . They will notify your GP of action areas and that might help your situation .
    take care ,
