Hi how's everyone today can't have my chemotherapy friday has planned got to wait 2 weeks my bloods are down so got to have iron and blood transfusion before has any one else had to wait 2 weeks

  • Hi . Sorry to read your planned chemo for Friday isn't going to take place.

Can I make a suggestion? Rephrase your post to something like "anyone else have to wait 2 weeks for chemo as bloods are down?" You might then get some answers from the other members. When your post is simply entitled "Colon cancer" if you think of it, they've all got it so might not answer whereas if you're actively asking a question someone with the relevant experience may come along to answer.

In the meantime, again sorry to read your post, you've had a frustrating time with delays for one reason or another.

    Hugs, B x

  • Hi Winst8.

I had to wait 3 weeks after my 2nd cycle as bloods showed issues with liver function. My chemo dose was then reduced and no issues so far after 5 cycles. My symptoms started with severe anaemia and had a blood transfusion after which I felt amazing. Had a 2nd one while having various tests. I've been on iron since before op and treatment.

Hi yes I'm sivere animia and got to have transfusions and there dropping 1 of the chemotherapy I'm worried that it won't have enough strength to shrink the tumor

  • Hi, I would suggest you speak to your specialist nurse as to how it will impact on effectiveness.

Hi moonlady I had transfusions today and feel great blood pressure gone back to normal I had severe anemia feel so much better how long did your transfusion last before you had to have another 1

  • Hi Winst

Glad to hear your feeling better.

I almost skipped out after 1st one. My blood count was 42.before (120 is the norm) Lasted a few months and had another when dipped to 80. Mine anaemia was caused by the tumour. Staying for time being on iron, it has been stable.
