Hello had surgery on the 9th July not doing to bad my ileostomy is so sore .had pathology results today thay said thay got all the cancer no mop up chemo needed my emotions are all over the place buhappy awaiting ct scan for reversal just hope it can be done take care all helen xxx

Hi Bop, Is it the skin area around the stoma that is sore? If so you could try some calamine lotion, but make sure it is dry before putting on the bag or you could use a barrier spray, I used a spray from coloplast called Protect. If you continue to have a problem talk to your stoma nurse.

It's sore around the stoma and we're the stitches are do you no when I can shower with out bag on take care helen x

Hi Bop, sorry I don't have an answer to the shower question, you may need to ask your stoma nurse. I had staples rather than stiches and they had to be taken out.
