Does anyone ever recover from this cancer?
Hi
Welcome to the forum !
Is it a distant spread or a local spread to the lymph nodes as they are different in terms of staging .
Distant lymph node involvement is classed as stage 4 . After chemotherapy my mum did not have any live cancer cells in her lymph nodes so it is possible . They have various mechanisms to try and contain the cancer which becomes the focus in a stage 4 setting ! But some people do respond to treatment . Not all yet !
If it’s near the primary it is most likely they will be removed during surgery .
If you can give us a bit more information that would be great !

That’s good news . It’s great to know you are responding to treatment and gaining shrinkage . That’s fantastic in itself .
How have you tolerated chemo ?
My mum was rough on it but it shrank her liver tumours and her bowel tumour and this allowed her to get to surgery .
After the scans they sent her report to the Multi Disciplinary meeting and they got their heads together and came up with a good plan for her !
Hope you get more shrinkage also . My mum could only ever do six chemos in a row so you are made of strong stuff !

Also said cannot operate because it’s to near the blood vessel...
Is it the lymph node that’s near a blood vessel ?
My mum had six months on chemo then she managed six months off before she had to have another six months . But the six months off did help her regain her strength .
Do you know if your a candidate for Immunotherapy?
My mum was so rough on chemo too . You will be ready for a good break from it to draw your strength back up . Hopefully they will have another approach that will be easier on you .

I understand. It’s a difficult location to operate ! Hopefully chemo will knock it right back !
You have been through a lot !
