Hi All
Don’t know if anyone else has/is experiencing a swollen stomach.
I finished my last round of chemo on 29 April
I’m also experiencing pain down my right side, it feels like I have a constant stitch.
I look like I’m 8months pregnant and it’s pretty damn solid! And I’ve got lower abdomen pain. A bit like dull period pain.
I’ve now been off chemo for just over 7weeks.
I’m regular, due mainly to laxido! So I don’t believe I’m constipated.
I feel slightly panicky that the cancer is super aggressive and not sure whether I should speak to my oncologist or whether I am over thinking things.
My cancer has spread to the liver, lungs and ovaries. After the last lot of chemo it showed significant shrinkage in all areas. Could it come back this quickly?
Thanks
Susan x
Hi SG007
Sorry to hear you are feeling some discomfort. I would definitely speak to your oncologist. Some people gather fluid that may need some intervention to drain . Not saying that is the case but you would need to get it checked out to let them assess it . I know it’s a hassle but you might feel more comfortable if they can assist you . Seven weeks is not that long so I would definitely give them a call to see if it’s more along the fluid lines .
Hope you mum is doing ok too! Have you been able to get out a bit since you stopped your chemo ?
Take care ,

Hi Court
thanks for your quick reply, I’ll definitely give my oncologist a call now.
ive been enjoying this time, caught up with friends and eating out out! We’re even going away for a few days tomorrow, which I’m really looking forward to. Change of scenery
ive been trying to keep my discomfort under wraps so mum doesn’t get too upset, but my tummy is quite hard to hide!
I think these few days away will do us both some good.
Take care

How lovely SG007
So pleased you are getting away . It’s great we can do this again . I always had trips lined up for mum after finishing chemo . It was such a boost and this will be great for you both !
Sounds as though you have had a lovely time with your friends . Doing normal things again is such a treat !
It can be really uncomfortable. My mum had a post op complication that caused it once and she literally looked nine months pregnant. I had to run to the maternity shop to get trousers that fitted over her tummy !
Glad you are going to speak to your team and so thoughtful as ever of your mum’s needs .
Take care and have a wonderful time !
