Hi I’m new here and worried I might have bowel cancer .I’ve had a constant severe ache very low down in abdomen bladder area.
Ended up in hospital and had CT scan with contrast of the abdomen
They said it showed diverticulitis.
My bowel is functioning normally ,no blood in stools ,just this pain which is much worse about 30 minutes after a bowel movement
I’m so worried and don’t feel in getting anywhere with doctors.
Has anyone had similar pain ?
Hi and I’m sorry to hear that you’re in pain. It sounds like you’ve been thoroughly checked out for bowel cancer. Has the doctor given you any guidance with regards to the diverticulitis? If you are still worried about bowel cancer then perhaps you could give the nurses in here a ring for a bit of reassurance? The number is 0808 808 00 00
Take care

Thank you for your reply I hope you don’t mind but I’ve sent you a friends request
I’m really struggling with this pain. So far they can’t find out why the pain is so severe and I’m having to take strong meds to control it .I feel like the pain is more my bladder but they didn’t find anything ,just the diverticulits on the CT
They have not put me down for any follow up tests just feel I’m left suffering. Not had a colonoscopy or cystoscopy have to wait till the end of June for phone call from Urologist.
Nothing really showing on my bloods or urine tests although my Faecal calprotectin was at 115 so in the upper limit
But that could be due to the painkillers ?
