Hello......I have just been taken off Capox treatment after just 2 cycles after having too many side effects'.

I am now going to be put on 5 weeks Radiotherapy and capecitabine tablets in a few weeks.....I have already had one AstraZeneca vaccine....before starting the capox.....and have now been told to have the second dose.

I am worried about having this, as I am still suffering side effects from the oxaliplatin and capecitabine tablets....very sore gritty and blurry eyes...week muscles..and electric type shocks in hands....also...I have small hard bluish bumps on palm and inside fingers...not sure if these are blood clots

does anyone else have these side effects....and also...has anyone else had the 2 AstraZeneca vaccines while on ..or just after chemo ? And if so....has there been any side effects....just wondering if it's better to wait till side effects subside...hoping they will do ... Irene

  • Hi Irene. Sorry to hear that you’re still struggling. I can understand your dilemma but also the need to have your second vaccination. I had my 2nd a couple of weeks ago and was absolutely fine - it was better than the first one. My hubby had his on Saturday and had a muggy head for a day which he didn’t have with the first - not much help am I!

Hiw about giving the nurses on here a quick ring and seeing what they think as they will probably have lots of up to date information? 0808 808 00 00

Thanks Karen...will give them a ring.....also..the next thing is with hay fever round the corner ...and wondering which is the best tablet to take? I usually take piriton ....but not sure if it will interfere with the radiochemo which I'm due to start in a few weeks time?
