Hello. I had surgery to remove a stage 3 Tumour from my colon that had spread to lymph nodes in January, I ended up with a stoma. I am in my final cycle of chemotherapy. Since then a mass has been found on my womb as well as a large cyst on an ovary, I am awaiting an urgent gynaecology appointment, this started 11 weeks ago ... if it’s cancer a full hysterectomy awaits. Has anyone elsehad colon cancer that has spread to the womb and what were the timeframes?
Also re the colon ... I’ve got an appointment with the oncologist on 22 June, there has been mention of a colonoscopy but nothing else ... what happens next in terms of scans, check ups etc .. I feel totally out of all loops, am utterly exhausted and fed up with it all ... any pointers? Thankyou
Hi Ags68 and I’m sorry to hear that they’ve now found some more issues. There are guidelines for checkups but they can vary from hospital to hospital but you will have scans and sometimes your CEA checked regularly over the next few years. I think you are supposed to have a follow up colonoscopy too. Perhaps you could give your Colorectal Support Nurse a ring for some sort of schedule?
Take care

Hi Ags68
I can give you some insight into working with another specialist although not the same location the process has been largely similar for both lung / liver .
Like you we observed quite a time delay . Not only did her scans go back to the MDT meeting they ended up having to go to a second one for the specialists involved in that area . That created a delay and we were concerned , however once past that hurdle it suddenly gained momentum and she was in surgery a few weeks later . They also like around six weeks from last chemo to surgery.
Can your specialist nurse assist you to get some more information or a wee nudge to the team ?
Take care ,
