Hi, I’m new to the group. Needing advice and support with caring for my 76 year old mum who has bony mets after breast cancer two years ago. She’s in excruciating pain even after palliative radiotherapy 2 months ago, currently on 40mg MST twice daily, pregabalin and oramorph. Pain is not under control. Don’t know how to help her. Any advice appreciated.
Hi Belg2001 welcome to the forum. That sounds very distressing for you all and not nice to see. I'm wondering if it is the GP that prescribes these meds for your mum? If so I would make contact with them and explain to them what is happening, see if they can do a home visit or can the District Nurse come in to provide advice and better pain management. Other than that I would contact 111 and see if they can help to alleviate this pain..
Hi a little story first. I had kidney cancer 5yrs ago. Life was good after having half a kidney removed. However after my first covid jab. 2months went by and was told my cancer was back. In my spine and rib. I am on 75mg morphine morning and night and liquid morphine in between. It does not help the pain. My chemo pill is horrible (side effects) I wish her well. And please if you find something for the pain please please let me know. Best wishes
