I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2021, had four surgies, resulting in mastectomy in 2022. Had chemo, radio and was put on letrozole which i have found hard, every joint aches ankles, elbows, fingers, back pain.

I saw oncologist a few weeks a go she suggested bone scan but wasnt overly concerned. I shoud of had a telephone appointment on Monday but they rang to change it to face to face on thursday. A different oncologist told me there were two areas of concern. One near spine one lower back. He was veru blunt and sdid chemo wasnt an option or radiotherapy and once i had mri and ct they would have a better plan of hormone therapy.

He was very negative and i just felt like there was nothing they would be willing to even try. Iv since read abput eople havkng chemo, radio andfurgery so am really confused.

I had been feeling so well, wxlking climbjng, getting me back. I try to be strong but his negativity has me worried that there is more.

Any advice would be appreciated xxc

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read everything that you've been going through and I can understand why you're worried.

As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups so I hope you don't mind me recommending that you also join and post in the secondary breast cancer group, as you'll then connect with others who can share their treatment experiences with you.

To join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
