I have recently been diagnosed with spine and sternum cancer which has come from my breast.  I had breast cancer 19 years ago and thought i had said goodbye to it!  How wrong I was.  I am taking medication and have had one infusion.  I am getting my head around this but it is difficult and i do find myself in tears from time to time.  Unfortunately i went completely off my food and have lost weight, and am weak.  My aim now is to put on weight and become physically stronger.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you've recently discovered that your breast cancer has spread to your spine and sternum and it's perfectly natural to feel tearful from time to time.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the secondary breast cancer group which is a great place to connect with others whose breast cancer has spread elsewhere. There you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.

If this is something that you'd like to do clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can join and post in the same way as you did here.

When you feel up to it, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
