Hello everybody.  I am Tonton, 91 years old from Berkshire. Following drops of blood in urine, underwent TULA Laser procedure last July and August and was diagnosed with BC G1, non invasive. After 10 weeks I am now due to a new TULA and biopsy to check BC status. Depending on results I am confronted with 4 treatment options: 1, Continue TULA procedures. 2, BCG local. 3, BC removal by Surgery under Sp. Anaesthesia. 4, Do nothing. I tend to favour this last n. 4 option. Otherwise, I am not doing  too bad, even if I suffer from Glaucoma, have a Pacemaker and blood thinner. I still enjoy some quality of life, my mobility is reduced but sufficient, my family of children and grandchildren, all very supporting. I enjoy  reading, watching football and movies on TV, and good food (in moderation). I look to the future with serenity and without anxiety, trying to be ready for any fate.  I would welcome any of  your comments, suggestions or questions. I am ready to share experiences with all of you, brothers and sisters of our community.

  • Welcome to the group Tonton,I hope you will find it helpful and supportive.Best wishes Jane

  • Hello Tonton,

Welcome to the group, you seem to have things under control. I'm nearly 20 years younger than you and have already had my bladder removed for muscle-invasive cancer.

I am under 6 monthly review by oncology and annual by Urology and my philosophy, similar to what I think your is, is to enjoy life with my family  for as long as it remains pleasant, keep calm and worry only when necessary. Quality of life not quantity has been our watch word for years now. So far so good and I hope you continue in the same way.

    All the best,

  • Welcome to the group. I totally understand you favouring the do nothing approach, but make sure to discuss with the consultant what might happen in that scenario. Considering option 1 or 3 might be worth doing to ensure any recurrences don't adversely affect bladder function. Hope you continue to enjoy life as long as possible!
