Hi I’m Lee 53 from Herefordshire.  I went for a routine occupational heath check where they found blood in my urine and after a second test a week later was still there. I have no symptoms so when I went for the camera check on the 30th September, I was expecting nothing sinister. I was advised I had 3 tumours in my bladder and on the 2nd October after a cancellation, had a TURBT with a dose of Mitomycin.
Now waiting for a CT scan and results from the op. I’m feeling a bit in limbo at the moment awaiting information.
Pleased to meet you!

  • Hello  and welcome to this friendly and supportive group. Many of us will be familiar with your story. Firstly be aware that BC can be treated successfully and many of us have been there. The early days of not knowing and uncertainty can be the worst. A scan will give them further information and along with histology results will determine a course of action. Once a treatment plan is in place, this gives you something positive to focus on. Try and stay away from Google. Lots of information out there but not all accurate. Macmillan has produced information of diagnosis and treatment if you click HERE . Lots of experiences here so usually someone to answer any questions or just to talk to. We understand. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Lee,

    Welcome to this friendly group.

The waiting can be the worst part for sure. Hopefully you will get your results back soon.

Don't be surprised if you need a second TURBT as this is pretty common.

Loads of experience on this forum, and it helped me massively during my early days so stick with us.

    Take care

    Trevor

  • Thanks Trevor I’m sure I will be tapping into all your experience from now on. Very pleased to meet you!
