Hello everyone recently diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer had tumor removed since my turbt surgery 6 weeks ago I've had severe pain in my buttocks groin and left leg have painkillers temporarily looking advice do you think cancer has spread or sounds like sciatica nerve inflammation? Just looking for similar experiences thank you mark
Hello Taffy, if the painkillers are just over the counter ones, I'd strongly recommend that you contact your cancer team or your GP regarding the pain(s) you are experiencing. While it is true that a TURBT can make your innards very sore and sometimes mess with nerves in the area, it is always wise to consult the professionals at any time, more so as your TURBT was quite recent. I've had two TURBTs but I'd describe the pain as severe bruising in the groin and stomach area. It eased gradually, allowing me to stop painkillers after about 5 weeks but by then I only needed one paracetamol before bed. Each patient will respond differently depending on medical history and the amount of 'work' done during the TURBT. I hope you receive reassurance from the medics soon. Yes, it's another sort of pain actually getting through to them on the phone. Good luck!
