Hello. I am Gilli90 and new here.

3 weeks ago, I had a cystoscopy which revealed 3 tumours in my bladder. The attending surgeon will arrange an operation to remove them.

He gave me a MacMillan card to use to explain further info to me. I haven't  yet got a date for the operation,  but I do have a consultant appointment on 14th September 2026.

Can MacMillan give me information about any date for my operation or pre-op assessment?

  • Hello  and welcome to the group although sorry to hear you may have BC. Firstly be aware that bladder cancer can be treated successfully. It is unlikely Macmillan would have access to your personal records. Appointments are made by the individual hospitals. Unfortunately waiting is all par for the course in our world. Once you have had your pre op, then your op should follow soon after. The procedure to remove bladder tumours is called a TURBT (trans urethral resection of bladder tumour). Sounds worse than it is . Usually done in day surgery but prepare for an overnight just in case. lots of us have been through this so lots of experience here to support you going forward. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Gilli90,Welcome to our friendly group.Sorry you find yourself here but ask anything as we are all here to help.Once you have had your procedure then it’s usual to see the consultant to get your results.Best wishes Jane

  • Hello, Rily, thank you for your support. I'm waiting for a pre-op and a date for the TURBT. My husband had a bladder cancer removed several years ago and is now awaiting his final annual check-up. The waiting is the worst part!

  • Hello, Jane. Thank you for your welcome.  It's inspiring to meet others here in the same boat!
