Dear All,
They found a very tiny area of recurrence in my bladder which they are going to burn it off in the next two weeks. I understand it is fairly common occurence with Ta stage bladder tumour. So I am hoping that is the end and that I wont be plagued by recurrences.
Hi Madmax . Obviously a bit of a disappointment but on the positive side it has been found early and will be dealt with with a quick zap. This shows the benefit of our regular checks. I hope all goes well gong forward. Best wishes.
Thank you Rily. That is reassuring. This tiny recurrence has happened 8 months after the Ta tumour was excised on the opposite side of bladder. Whilst they are going to zap it, I am concerned that this indicates failure of BCG. After all I have had 9 doses so far. Should I be demanding an alternative such as Mitomycin or Gemcitabine? Also, I wonder if anybody here has had similar experience and how it was dealt with. I am also toying with the idea of seeking a second opinion from Royal Free hospital in London, but have not decided yet.
