Hi everyone I had a TURBT 4 weeks ago to try and remove my bladder tumour it is in my diverticulum so they were unable to fully remove it my CT showed lymph node spread I go in today to hopefully know more and hopefully find out what the plan next is for me it’s been so hard waiting and not knowing but hoping today I will have a plan with what can be done for me its the not knowing what’s next but like everyone here I do hope to fight this I’m worried the strain it’s putting on my children there is only me and my son and daughter I raised them a single parent after my husband left us when they were tiny I did have my parents support so I could still work part time but now they have both passed so just us my daughter is back at her job on the cruise ships she got home for 2 weeks leave to help me after my TURBT and my son is home now with me whenever he can I’m feeling back to myself heath wise but I have a huge German Shepherd cross Samoyed puppy now 7 months who has his moments of playfulness and jumpy at times but we are managing him and he is bringing me so much joy so hope I will still manage my big puppy just all the unknown but hopefully I will know more today my heads been everywhere since knowing they couldn’t remove it and it’s spread sorry for my big story really just hard the waiting
Hi FiM,
I'm sure they will sort you out. And please don't think that if you have to have your bladder removed it is the end of everything. It isn't. I hope that they can get out the lymph nodes too if needed. It's good that your son is helping. I'm afraid I don't have pets (allergies etc) but I'm told they help too for company and keeping one busy.
let us know how you get on,
All the best,
Latestart
Thank you Jane been told that it SCC of the bladder and that there’s nothing that can be done to treat it I’m now waiting on another CT scan to see how much it’s spread consultant said there’s nothing they can do but wait for this said very slim chance I will be able to get radical surgery but may have spread to fast my heads a big mess with knowing this now kept trying to be positive but it’s so hard getting told this now but I will hopefully get the next CT soon and then wait for the results to see if I can try to get surgery
Thank you I’ve been nursing for 41 yrs and cared for many people with stoma bags so yes if that is the way forward for me to try and get it gone I will do that just with the consultant saying it looks very invasive but they can’t know for certain until I get another CT scan so now just more waiting for me I am 59 and very fit and active always have been very into sports I was a professional dancer when younger and I’m a black belt in taekwondo with many titles I have never smoked and tried to be as fit and healthy as I can be so any op doesn’t worry me I was run over by an articulated lorry at 5 yrs old drs don’t know how I survived so I do hope I can fight this just been a very hard day today getting told this
Been for my results I’ve got Squamous Cell Blader Cancer been told it’s highly invasive and there’s no treatment so really hard to get my head around this I’m now waiting on a further CT scan to see if further spread now that it’s also in my lymph nodes but just hard when I asked about any treatment to be told this type of cancer is rare and it doesn’t respond to any chemo or radiotherapy nothing at all can treat it and if spread even more they say surgery won’t be possible to try and remove it so I really am not in a good place tonight
Hi FiM, I'm so sorry to read your news and I don't have any words to make you feel better except to say that there is always someone on here to talk/rant to when you need to. I hope that you get your next CT scan organised very quickly so you are not left in limbo.
In the meantime spend lots of time cuddling your beautiful puppy. As you can see from my name I am absolutely
% a crazy doggy mama too! My cocker spaniel is such a joy in my life, its very hard to be down when watching her antics
!!
I'm sending love and hugs and positivity to you, your children and obviously to the puppy. Ade xxx ️
