First time here so just wanted to say hi.

I was diagnosed with grade 3 ta last September and had 2 TURBT surgeries, just finished the 6 induction BCG's and have surgery booked for 16th March to see how things are looking.

Strangely I've been fine with everything - just getting on with it all, 'it is what it is'. Now today for some reason I am crying....and crying and crying and crying. Feeling incredibly overwhelmed with everything.

I decided I need support so thought I would try here so I can read other people's experiences and feel less alone.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to this friendly and supportive group. Good to know treatment is going well. but sorry to hear you are having a bit of a wobble. You are not alone there. Many of us have been there. The emotions can catch up with you now again. That's one of the benefits of this group. You can come here and let things out or just have a chat. We understand. Lots of varying experience here so always someone with an answer to any questions you may have. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Trekkie,

    Welcome to this friendly forum.

Good to hear that you've had your TURBTs and your BCG induction done. Everything can happen so fast in the beginning it's difficult to catch your breath...

It can then catch up with you for sure.

Several people on here are having BCG, myself included.. I've had 18 instillations over the last few years and 8 biopsies..

Load's of experience on here, so any questions fire away, everyone is so lovely and helpful.

    Wishing you all the best.

    Trevor

  • Hi Trekkie,

Sorry you are here with us but welcome…I think you have done incredibly well to hold it all together for this long, Like BFG I am also on the BCG train..start #16 in a couple of weeks.. fire away with any questions….for me personally it has been a mental up and down more than anything…take care

  • Hi Trekkie,Welcome to the group.I hope you will find it helpful and supportive. It’s natural to get overwhelmed at times.Post here anytime there is usually someone around even in the early hours.Best wishes Jane xx

  • Thank you Rob. I hope your BCG is going as well as it can. My hospital only do a total of 15, so I'm not sure if that means I'm getting a lesser treatment? They say it's due to money restrictions that 15 is the maximum?

  • I’ve no idea if each hospital is different…im due to have up to 27…

  • Looking into it, it does seem that different areas have different amounts of funding to invest so for my area it says the maximum is only 15. I guess I have to just hope that is enough!

    Thanks for replying.

  • Life does catch up with one sometimes and all one can do is go with the flow. Hopefully it's "better out than in' and you'll soon be back to your usual  approach.

    All the best,
