Hi folks
It is 5 weeks since my first TURBT [a second one scheduled for next week] for pTaG2 Int risk bladder cancer. I have restarted physical pursuits such as golf training, kettle bell exercises etc. Recently, after I started Barley-lemon drink [2 litres a day], I have on a few occasions passed bits of bladder lining.
Is this normal? Should I be worried about it? Has anyone else had similar experience? Please let me know. Your replies mean a lot to me.
Hi Madmax,
It is a while since my TURBT but I think I was told that after the operation the wound scabs over and bits of the scab can be flushed out along with urine over time. I can't recall whether this happened to me or not.
I would contact your CNS and ask them about this and what level of exercise they recommend. Or maybe documentation you were given re the TURBT will have the answer.
Good luck with the next op.
All the best,

Hi Madmax,It used to happen to me often and I’ve had many TURBT’s in the past.I would caution you to take care not to lift anything too heavy or do a lot of stretching or bending while the bladder heals.I once moved some heavy boxes exactly a month after a TURBT and spent the day in A & E with a bladder haemorrhage.I never made that mistake again.6 weeks would probably allow enough time for complete healing to happen so just don’t overdo the exercise. It’s finding that balance of keeping fit without going overboard.Best wishes Jane
