Hi Guys
Had my initial diagnosis of bladder cancer on Friday 7th March and hit me like a freight train. Hope to get to know some of you lovely people and share our experiences of this journey. X
Hi Flipfinder and welcome to the group. Lots of support here for you going forward. We know how scary the early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be. Lots of experiences here at all stages of treatment, so always someone with an answer. Feel free to ask anything or just come for a chat or a moan. We understand. Best wishes.
Hi, welcome to the group. I found the community on here a great help when I was diagnosed and going through my bladder cancer journey. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions whatsoever as someone will have been through or going through the same or similar. We have all been through the same emotional rollercoaster so jump on board. Sending hugs
Welcome to the club. Once you get past the freight train moment and begin to work out what happens next you'll find it's all planned out to make you better. The medics will help you understand your treatment plan and we can help you with our experiences to cope with what is going on.
Hope this helps a bit. If you like to understand by reading up on things. Macmillan has lots of booklets that explain bladder cancer (and there are different types of illness, and usual treatment for each). There are also bladder cancer specific charities that produce their own stuff. Your hospital may also give you documents.
The one thing everyone on here says is don't Google - go to the experts (and that includes other patients like us).
All the best,
Latestart (so called because it took me a lot longer than 3 days to find myself on here)
Hi there Flipfinder,
Hope you’re managing to steady yourself a bit since diagnosis and tempting as it is, managing to stay away from AI generated click bait stuff on Google! Good advice here to go to the professionals instead.
I’m glad you've found this group, it’s been a huge help to me. There’s always someone around with experience and knowledge to help, support and reassure and in turn there’s folk who benefit from your experience and understanding too. Welcome.
Best wishes, Nikki x
(0.5cm Lesion discovered during cystoscopy on 5th Feb removed via Turbt on 21st now awaiting MDT meeting for full path diagnostics)
Hi Nikki
Thank you for your reassuring words , it's definitely an unsteadying path we are going down .
I had the same procedure as your self ( TURBT) which was uncomfortable in it's self and I'm only just feeling my self from that . I really hope your results are good.... Good luck babes x
Fingers crossed for you Phil x
