Hi all
I was diagnosed with bladder cancer at the end of July 24 . It was totally out the blue . I had no symptoms nothing , had a CT scan for something else .
since the I’ve had the tumour removed and now waiting for bladder and prostrate to be removed some time next month everything has happened so quickly l cannot get my head round it .
That must have been a tremendous shock for you. I recall how sick I felt when first diagnosed and told I might need bladder removal. Sometimes the haste means less time having anxious anticipation. In the end I did have surgery and neobladder 13 years ago.
Try to spend the pre-op time getting as fit as possible & planning post op entertainment while recovering. Do you have help at home? You will find you are extremely weak and tired at first, recovery may seem frustratingly slow. Make sure to eat little & often (a snack every couple of hours or so), drink plenty, and gradually build up walking. Hope all goes well for you.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
