Hi everyone I start chemo on 21st February
Hi Ralph44 . MMC is usually administered directly in to the bladder and needs to be kept in for a couple of hours. Usually an initial 6 week course. I went a different way but I am sure others who have had this treatment will be along to help. I hope it goes well. Best wishes.
Hi Ralph44, welcome to the group.
I finished my 6 wk course of Mitomycin direct into the bladder, just before Christmas. If this is what you’re having its best not to drink for a couple of hours before your treatment time, as they like you to keep it in for at least 2 hours after, and it not be watered down by any extra urine our body makes… and no drinking for a couple hours after, then drink as much fluid ( water, juice, etc) you can take to flush your system out. It may sting a bit on first couple of wee’s and it comes out purple.!!!
best wishes for your treatment, it’s more embarrassing than anything else.
Julia x
