My partner keeps getting uti

Hi 

I'm new on here, I just wanted to know if anyone who has had a cystoprostatectomy, and keeps getting uti. My partner had his operation January last year. All went well but he can go about 4 to 6 weeks  without getting a infection, sometimes we have to go to hospital were he his admitted for a few days. Anyone else going through this.

  • Hi Willow 29,Welcome to the group.Does your partner have Cranberry juice/capsules or Lemon barley water ? If not these may help to prevent infections.I always used to ask for a repeat urine sample to be taken just to double check the infection had gone.Before bladder removal I picked up a uti in hospital and it took several courses of antibiotics to get rid of it.Best wishes Jane
