Hi all,

No close experience of cancer in my 55 years on this earth however on Tuesday my Dad was told he has terminal cancer of the bladder which has spread to his liver and lungs.
He has weeks/months left.

To be sat next to him in the hospital when he was given this devastating news was truly heartbreaking.

So we’re  just starting this journey I can only hope his time left is comfortable.

The NHS and local social support services have been fantastic and moved very quickly so fingers crossed he will indeed be as comfortable as possible.

xx

  • Hi Black Bladder

I am sorry to hear of your dads diagnosis and i know this will be a very difficult time. Its good to know that your local support services are there for your dad to make him as comfortable as possible. There's nothing anyone can say to make the situation feel any better but this forum is a place where you can talk about how you feel. Anger, anxiety etc there's always someone you can talk to.

    With warmest of wishes

    Deb

  • Thanks. The day we were told was a roller coaster of emotions. Better now I’m sorting things out for him. Keeping busy helps and I think he likes me buzzing round him.

  • Hi Black Bladder,I’m so sorry about your dad’s diagnosis.I’m glad he has you for support.Best wishes Jane

  • Hi  Black Bladder, and welcome to the forum, i am really sorry to hear about your dad, I was with my mum at hospital when we were told she had 4 months left, so have some idea what you are going through, It is good to know that you are getting some good support though, So as DME54 says if we can help in any way please ask.
