Hi All. I'm a 60 year old male. I had my bladder cancer removed just over a year ago and it returned in June. I've just started a 6 week course of Mitomycin. I had my second dose yesterday and am exhausted today. Just wondering if this is normal
Hi Skelf and welcome to the group, although sorry to hear you are feeling so exhausted. I did not have removal, but I have had my fair share of various chemo treatments and know how they can wipe you out. Chemo fatigue is not like normal tiredness, it feels as though your energy has been drained away. Chemo causes reduction of white blood cells which give you energy. My GP prescribed some tablets which helped. Exercise when you can and rest when you need to. Also important to take on plenty of water to stay well hydrated. Always wise to talk to the medics if things do not improve or get worse. Best wishes.
