Hi, I’m new to the group that I’m sure no one wants to be part of! A bit of background, I fell down the down some stairs in April which resulted in a broken rib and punctured lung and a short hospital stay. When discharged they said that theyd noticed something in my bladder that needed investigating. Asked if I had any symptoms which I didn’t. Eventually got an appointment with urology (after lots of phone calls as they messed up my referral) 2 months later! The delay caused me anxiety as I felt that whatever it was must’ve been caught early as I was completely unaware. Anyway they said that it was a 22cm tumour that needed removing. I had my TURBT last week, they didn’t end up doing the chemo wash as he went quite deep and didn’t want to damage my bladder. I had a catheter fitted which is being removed on Friday, thank god! Can’t wait to get rid of it! And now I have the agonising wait for biopsy results ms plan. The dr said after my surgery that he is sure it is cancer but he got all of it and he didn’t think it had gone into the muscle. I am petrified, I have really depressed days ans then some good ones when I try to forget about it a bit. I only 53 with 2 children that rely on me. Im Holding onto the fact that it was caught early and usually quite treatable. Trying to stay positive but after going through a traumatic cancer fight with my mum 10 years ago I’m finding it tough. Anyway, nice to meet you all!
Hi MillyMand and welcome to this friendly and supportive group. As you say bc can be treated successfully but the waiting and uncertainty can be anxious times and we tend to overthink things. When your results are in a treatment plan will be put in place and you will then know where you are going. Don't be alarmed if you get called for a CT scan, it is quite normal. Lots of experience here so please ask anything you want or just come to talk. We understand. Best wishes.
Hi MillyMand,Welcome to the group.I think most of us felt as you do at this early stage. It does get better once your results are all in and you have an idea about treatment. This is a supportive group I hope you will find it helpful.Love and best wishes Jane x
