Hi all best wishes
been unable to speak for a while but had bc in 2022 and successful TURBT.
I cannot face my family as so scared of bc returning.check is due August.
I am putting on a brave face (as we do) but I cannot face them and want to be on my own.
They think I am the same person but I’m not and don’t know how to tell them.
Had 3 infections since December and again getting antibiotics from doctor to treat utis.
I also feel awful most days
Any thoughts on trying to tell family I need to be alone.
just feel I’m waiting for it to return and time is short
kind regards
Regards to all
Hi Waffledog . The fear of a recurrence does tend to ease with time, but I don't think the little niggles will ever go away. The good thing is that with regular checks, we can feel confident any recurrences will be caught early. I know it can be difficult talking to family as they don't always understand. I found that being open and honest and keeping people in the loop really helps. Not always appropriate, but I find that using a bit of humour about the indignities we go through can break the ice and help people feel more comfortable talking about it. Keeping things to yourself will only increase the anxiety. I hope all goes well at your next check. Best wishes.
