Hi I was diagnosed with T2 3G in August and have just finished three months, 3 x 21 days, GEM CIS Chemo at Southampton. Now I am faced with a choice of a RC ( Radical Cystoscopy) or 20 days of radiochemo therapy. Both are terrifying and have side effects so has anyone else been here and had to make this decision? PS I am a 73 year old male. Thanks.
Hello Gazzanoon and welcome to the group. Sorry to her of your diagnosis but you will get lots of support and advice here. My oncologist says there is no evidence to show that one route is better than the other for muscle invasive bc. I was T3/G3 and opted for chemoradiotherapy. Treatment was painless but I had bowel problems for several weeks after treatment finished but it faded and now I am nine years clear with normal bladder. Other people choose to have removal. Both routes may have their problems. Gather as much information as you can before deciding which is best for you. Ask as many questions as you can. lots of experience here. Best wishes.
