Hi Folks I am a 70 year old male diagnosed with a grade three tumour (that we have called Ted. We are big fans of Gone Fishing!) in my bladder last Friday. The tumour is a T1 - just starting to infiltrate the buffer zone (how do they know that?). The speed and efficiently of my treatment has been outstanding. My goodness we are so lucky to have the NHS. Now booked in for re-resection at the end of November when like everyone else on this forum I will have the agonising wait to see if Ted is T2 or T3
Hi Phil K and welcome to the group. You should get lots of support here as you go forward. You will not know the stage and grade until the biopsies have been analysed after your TURBT op (trans urethral resection of bladder tumour). Not sure how they have given you a stage and grade already. The op itself is fairly straightforward in the great scheme of things. Usually done in day surgery but prepare for an overnight. Lots of experience here and always someone to answer questions. Best wishes.
Hi Rily. Sorry I obviously did not make myself clear. I had a bladder biopsy and cystodiathermy on 06/10/22. My results came out last Friday 14/10/22. I have a further re-resection in 6-8 weeks time. Bit twitchy about that. T1 at the moment because I guess they have not dug deep enough. Going deeper next time. Thank you for the welcome
Hi Phil. That makes sense now. A follow up is common and fairly standard. Just to mop up and make sure they have missed nothing. Also, the further biopsy can give a more accurate diagnosis. As you said earlier, the waiting can be stressful and something everyone finds hard. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
