Hi, I’m 56 and have just been diagnosed with a T1 NMIBC ,however, unfortunately it’s high grade micro papillary and my surgeon recommended immediate RC.
Feeling very scared, confused and have been told there aren’t really any other options as this type spreads quickly and doesn’t respond well to BCG.
I am resigned to the RC and hopefully it will happen soon. Anyone else have this type?
Dave
Hi dave22,Welcome to this friendly group. There are several people here who have gone through a cystectomy and can offer advice and support.I had one 3 years ago.The early days following diagnosis are a bit overwhelming. We understand what that feels like and are all here to help.Ask any questions there is usually someone here who can answer.Best wishes Jane
Hi Dave. Had a similar circumstance. T1 Sarcomatoid variant. Was strongly advised by my URL and two subsequent opinions to have an immediate RC , for the same reasons as yours. Had the second turn which confirmed that it had been T1 and quickly had the bladder and prostate removed. The path results were very good and no chemo was deemed necessary. That was 5 years ago. I’ve had a neobladder ever since and it has been great. Orillia.
