Hi everyone, i had a cystoscopy last Tuesday & they found a growth 1.5cmx2cm, got to wait 6-8 weeks for a turbt. Im 49 is that young in regards to bc? Any help or advice is welcomed, the waiting is the worst part thanks everyone.

  • Hi Robo

That sounds quite small, hopefully it should be easy to remove. 49 seems a little young, but it can affect anyone. The plus point will be that your body will be stronger than us oldies. Cut out refined sugar.

  • Hi and a welcome to the group. I am sure you will get plenty of support here as you go forward. Bladder cancer was once regarded as an older persons disease, but over the years we have seen many younger people with this. Firstly, be aware that bladder cancer can be treated successfully. The TURBT is the first procedure to remove what they can. A fairly routine op. Usually done in day surgery, but prepare for an overnight. In the meantime, it is important to drink plenty of water to keep things flushed out and help prevent infection. Feel free to ask anything. Many of us have been there. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.
