Hi, I,m new here, diagnosed with Grade 3 T1 bladder cancer last June, had 6 weeks of BCG treatment , had biopsies taken in December but bad news was it had come back, had choice of more BCG or bladder removed, which I,m having done on the 26th February, bit nervous but I am staying positive, just wondered if someone could
give me reassurance I am doing the right thing , thank you.
Hi margben,I forgot to say it might be an idea to take plenty of pants into hospital. Some of us here had anal leaking and wind after cystectomy.I had vaginal bleeding and discharge for some weeks afterwards though not everyone gets this.I got through a lot of pads and pants in hospital. The hospital water was foul too so I wish I had taken in some bottled water.love Jane
Is it tomorrow you are having the surgery ? Don’t be alarmed by the amount of tubes you will have in to start with, most are removed once you are out of intensive care.I wish you all the best and hope it all goes smoothly.Let us know how you get on when you feel up to it.Love Jane xx
Sorry to hijack this post, Margben. I wish you the very best of luck with your surgery x
Chasam, I’ve sent you a friend request. I hope that’s alright? I think my husband will have a very similar decision to the one you had...I’m not sure what happens from here re being able to message you privately?
Thanks
Best wishes for tomorrow margen, hope it all goes well.
Luce x,
Hi margben, hoping you wake up this morning feeling relieved your surgery is done and your cancer gone. Although it's very icy the sun is shining bright on a beautiful day. A great day to start the rest of your healthy life. Sending love. x
Hi, everyone, had my op cancelled, I was nearly all ready for theatre, when I mentioned to the anesthetist my heart was racing, she checked me over and agreed, asked for a ECG to be done, she was,nt happy with the results, went to get more advice, meanwhile surgeon had to go through things, she back, said no it will have to be cancelled, too risky, hooked me up to a minister, heart was going 170 a minute ,, should be below hundred, gave me beta blockers, came down eventually to 70. Spoke to a cardiologist, it was atrial fibrillation, heart racing in other words, so on tablets at Moment, beta blockers and blood thinners, got home for teatime, received a portal letter today, pre op on 15th march, the surgeon did say the Cancer wouldn't grow much and wouldn't be invasive, which was reassuring, so hopefully done in march, sorry for waffling on bit, so at moment at home with my feet up Margaret x
Sorry for some of the spelling mistake,s should be moniter x
