Botox injections in the bladder

Hi Adickin2 . The subject of Botox has come up here in the past but not very often. I have done a search in the group and can only find two posts where people were going for this to relieve overactive bladders, but no one came back with any feed back. Hopefully someone may be along with some help. You could also try posting in Ask a Nurse for some information. Best wishes.

I would suggest that the front line treatment for an overactive bladder is a drug like Mirabegron. But I am no medical person.

I’m on Mirabegron and Darafenecine but these aren’t calming down the bladder post BCG maintenance. 
The next step is Botox - I’ve read up on it and the side effects etc. I’m hoping there’s someone who’s had it and can give some insight

Hi Andy,It might be worth looking at the cystitis and overactive bladder foundation.My friend found Botox helpful but that was for multiple sclerosis bladder problems.I hope it works for you.Jane x

Andy Mirabegron takes 6 to 8 weeks to kick in, have you factored that it. Its dose is important too. I started off on 25mg which did not do much, but doubling the dose to 50mg did the trick.
