Hi guys, so has anyone been thru this operation? How long for recovery? Does the external bag deal with just urine or fetal matter as well? So many more questions, but this is a start, saying I'm scared would be an understatement.
Hi, -- been there , done that - (haven't got the tee shirt tho'!)
I had mine removed, together with my prostate nine years ago, it took several weeks to start getting out and about again - but it does come eventually. Tip --- when they give you a stand for the night bag, leave it in the box, get a large cat litter tray to lay the bag in instead-- it's waterproof, fits under the bed and doesn't fall over in the middle of the night !
Best wishes.
Hi Kevv, I had the same 5 years ago, I had my bladder, prostate, seminal sacs and pelvic lymph nodes removes after having had the tumour removed via trans ureatheral resection of bladder tumour and 6 sessions of chemo, the operation took approx 6 hours and I now have a stome that collects the urine, it took me a few weeks to recover and I was back at work after 12 weeks.
