Left home at 10.40 am drove 70 miles for a flexi cystoscopy. With 1.15 pm appointment , gowned up and sample done . At 3.20 I was asked why I wasn’t dressed . I said I was waiting for a procedure. Told that it was cancelled due to infection and handed a prescription for antibiotics. I asked why I hadn’t been told but got no response. The discharge letter had been signed off at 2.04. Took the prescription to the chemist on site who said it wasn’t correctly filled out. I took it back to the ward for correction . Although this was done there was no offer of apology or regret. I paid the £4.40 parking fee and drove the 70 miles back home after picking up the prescription. Arrived home at 6.30. I am annoyed and frustrated at the attitude and approach of the staff . I can accept the cancellation because. of the infection but I cannot understand why I wasn’t informed in good time and with an element of regret.
