Hello
Recap. I was diagnosed with G! Pta in June 2017. I've had a few scares since including invisible blood.
I've had about 7 cystoscopys since initially diagnosed.
Late this morning I had another check, planned check/cystoscopy after 12 months but previous ones were at 6/9 months.
Good news, no reoccurrence.
FYI, NICE recommends that low grade bladder cancer where there was only one lump that was sub 3cm are
discharged after 12 months from diagnosis to primary care if no further occurenaces. However the doctors said 5
years of reviews but today, the doctor said ten years. He did appeared rushed, he ws running late as he arrived 2 hours
late but I was just glad that everything was good.
So if you are reading this today, next year or in many years time, I hope this helps you put your mind to some rest.
FYI I worry too much and a doc said to me that too much worry is no good and we know that but it is who we are.
If you are diagnoses with something like this the most worrying part is waiting to get the test/results and hopefully its
all clear or very easily manageable. Please never forget/delay your appointments and chase them for your appointments if you need to.
you are not trying to jump the line or anything like that but just ensuring they have not forgotten you or mislaid your appointments as the earlier this is
caught the more treatable it is.
Good luck all
Hello gooluckall. Great news to hear your all clear. Some great information as well. I am sure it will help others going forward. Best wishes.
Cheers, rily.
It was what I hoped for that people would find it helpful Lst few weeks I'd been looking up follow up
cystoscopys over the years but not a lot out there.
you have helped me in the past many times as have a few others, thank you.
Hi gooluckall. I have been told I will be on 6 monthly flexi checks for 10 years. Now 8+ years down the line and so far so good. More than 20 flexi checks over the years, but still get the jitters before each one. Thankfully, all my checks have been more or less on time, but sometimes I have had to chase them up as you say. Few false alarms over the years just to keep me on my toes. Best wishes.
