Hi I’m new here. I’m just really worried about my husband. This has been going on for quite awhile. He had the usual signs of being really tired nausea itchy skin and massive weight loss. To cut a long story short it went through the system and they found a mass and they put a drain in for him. This has been in for two weeks now and yesterday they removed that and put a metal stent in.

I spoke to him this morning on the phone and he said he feels absolutely awful. He’s been throwing up not been able to eat anything for a few days now anyway, He told me not to go up and see him today as he just feels too awful and doesn’t feel I’ll be able to talk much but obviously I’m gonna go up and try and speak to a nurse or a doctor to see if this is normal I just wondered if anybody else had symptoms like this after having it put in because the surgeon said yesterday that it would probably be going home today or tomorrow but that’s absolutely 100% not gonna happen.

I’m just scared that he’s got an infection or something or something has gone wrong please can anyone advise me or has anyone been through this? And how long did it take to recover from having a stent put in. I’m just really scared and just feel very alone thank you for listening

  • Hi

I am sorry you are going through this. I don’t have any direct experience of this but know from seeing my brother in law’s journey with pancreatic cancer that had spread into his liver that it’s a rough ride. I hope you are able to speak to his doctors to understand how they might stabilise him and make him more comfortable. I hope someone with direct experience is able to come and add something to help. Wishing you all the best.
