When newly and suddenly diagnosed with bile duct cancer and due to age and general health surgery is not an option do people ever come home again from hospital?
It’s my husband. He can walk a short few yards. He is in hospital very jaundiced. This was all very sudden a week ago. They plan to put a metal stent in next week. They said it can progress quickly and age and health rule out surgery. Also he will probably be transferred to a hospital that specialises in bile duct cancer which I will have problems getting to. I am worried he might never come home again although I would always look after him.
I am so sorry to read your situation. It will be tough for you that visiting will not be easy but it's so important your husband is treated in a specialist hospital. Have you looked at the AMMF charity website, there is lots of information and I believe you can contact them for help and advice. I hope you find support to help you visit your husband and he soon receives the best treatment plan.
